Spokane Velocity FC came from behind to beat Fort Wayne FC 3–1 at home on Friday night, with Shavon John-Brown scoring twice and adding an assist in a dominant second-half performance. Jack Thomas opened the scoring for Fort Wayne in the 15th minute, but goals from John-Brown (66', 81') and Luis Gil (84') turned the match on its head.

Fort Wayne took control early. Thomas's goal gave the visitors a deserved lead, and Spokane struggled to find a response in the opening half. Moses Mensah picked up a yellow card in the 21st minute, and the home side went into the break trailing.

The second half was a different story. Nil Vinyals, despite being booked in the 58th minute, provided the spark Spokane needed. He found John-Brown in the 66th minute, and the forward made no mistake to level the score. The game grew increasingly fractious — Javier Armas and Ryan Becher were both cautioned for Fort Wayne in the 74th minute as frustrations boiled over.

John-Brown struck again in the 81st minute, finishing from a Jack Denton delivery to put Spokane ahead for the first time. He earned a yellow card for his celebration but barely had time to catch his breath before turning provider. Just three minutes later, John-Brown teed up Gil, who slotted home to make it 3–1 and kill the contest. Jon Paul Jordan II picked up a late booking for Fort Wayne as the visitors' evening went from bad to worse.

The victory strengthens Spokane Velocity's position in the USL League One standings and caps a remarkable turnaround from a side that looked second-best for much of the first hour.
