FC Naples opened their 2026 USL League One campaign with a 2–0 victory over Fort Wayne FC on Saturday, with goals from Christopher Garcia on the stroke of halftime and Dominick Bachstein late on sealing all three points.

The first half was a stop-start affair, punctuated by bookings on both sides. Marc Torrellas picked up a yellow card in the 21st minute, followed by Fort Wayne's Anthony Hernandez in the 32nd and Jon Paul Jordan II in the 42nd. The cautions did little to slow Torrellas, though. Three minutes after Jordan II's booking, the Spaniard delivered the key pass that set up Garcia to break the deadlock right at the 45-minute mark, sending Naples into the break with a deserved lead.

Fort Wayne needed a response in the second half but struggled to find one. Naples controlled proceedings without needing to force the issue, content to manage their advantage and wait for openings on the counter.

The insurance goal came in the 88th minute. Bachstein found the net to double the lead and effectively end any hopes of a Fort Wayne comeback. It was a clinical finish to a professional performance from the home side.

The clean sheet will please the Naples coaching staff as much as the goals. Keeping Fort Wayne scoreless over 90 minutes — despite some physical exchanges in the first half — sets a solid early-season standard.

The result gives FC Naples a winning start to the League One season and an early foothold in the standings as the long campaign gets underway.
