FC Frederick cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory away at DMV Elite FC in NPSL action on Saturday, with goals from J. Ndrenika, J. Geist, and L. Cruz sealing all three points.
Frederick wasted no time asserting themselves. Ndrenika opened the scoring in just the eighth minute, and Geist doubled the advantage four minutes later to put the visitors firmly in control before the match had even settled into any rhythm. DMV Elite found themselves chasing the game almost from kickoff, and Frederick's early two-goal cushion proved impossible to overturn.
The second half brought little change in fortunes for the hosts. A. Rubio had already been cautioned for FC Frederick late in the first half, and teammate D. Greenwood picked up a yellow card in the 62nd minute, but neither booking disrupted Frederick's grip on the contest. DMV Elite struggled to create meaningful chances, and any hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Cruz added a third in the 80th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
The shutout capped a dominant display from FC Frederick, who controlled proceedings from start to finish. DMV Elite rarely threatened and will need to regroup quickly after a deflating home defeat.
The convincing away win strengthens FC Frederick's position in the NPSL standings and signals a side hitting its stride at a crucial point in the summer schedule.
