Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC held off a spirited Sporting JAX comeback to win 3–2 at home on Saturday in USL Championship action. Albert Dikwa struck twice, in the seventh and 50th minutes, while Samuel Bassett added another as the Hounds built a commanding lead before JAX pulled two back late through Mohamed Traore and Emil Jääskeläinen.

Pittsburgh wasted no time setting the tone. Dikwa opened the scoring just seven minutes in, giving the hosts an early cushion. Bassett doubled the advantage in the 27th minute, and the Riverhounds looked well in control heading into halftime — though Dikwa picked up a yellow card in the 42nd minute for his troubles.

The booking did nothing to slow him down. Dikwa grabbed his second of the night five minutes into the second half to make it 3–0, and the game appeared all but over.

Sporting JAX had other ideas. Traore pulled one back in the 58th minute, finishing from a Jordan Rossiter delivery to inject life into the visitors. Four minutes later, Jääskeläinen cut the deficit to one, converting off a Harvey Neville assist. Suddenly, Pittsburgh had a game on its hands.

JAX's urgency brought discipline issues, with Ahmad Al-Qaq and Brem Soumaoro both collecting yellows as tempers frayed. But despite the momentum shift, the Riverhounds managed the final 28 minutes without conceding again, closing ranks to preserve the three points.

The victory gives Pittsburgh an early-season home win and sends a message that they can be clinical — even if the nervy finish will concern the coaching staff going forward.
