Indy Eleven and Hartford Athletic played out a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Sunday, with Edward Kizza opening the scoring inside three minutes before Jordan Scarlett equalized for the visitors in the 74th.

The hosts came flying out of the gate. Kizza latched onto a Jack Blake pass and buried it early to give Indy the lead before most fans had settled into their seats. Hartford goalkeeper Brendan Burke was booked almost immediately after the goal as tempers flared in the opening minutes.

From there, the game turned scrappy. Anthony Herbert picked up a yellow for Indy in the 24th minute, and the fouls kept coming after halftime. Scarlett was cautioned in the 50th minute, followed by Hartford's Sadat Anaku in the 57th. Logan Neidlinger went into the book for Indy in the 72nd minute as Hartford pushed for an equalizer.

Two minutes later, they found it. Scarlett — already walking a disciplinary tightrope on his earlier booking — ran onto a Sebastian Anderson delivery and leveled the match at 1–1. It was a calculated gamble by the forward, who played aggressively despite the yellow card hanging over him.

Indy pressed for a late winner but couldn't break through. Nabilai Kibunguchy picked up a yellow deep in stoppage time as frustration mounted for the home side.

Six yellow cards were shown across the 90 minutes, reflecting a physical contest that neither team could fully wrestle control of. The draw leaves both sides sharing the spoils in what shapes up as a tight middle-of-the-table battle in the Championship standings.
