Lexington SC came from behind to beat Monterey Bay FC 3–2 on the road in USL Championship action Saturday night, with Phillip Goodrum and Marcus Epps striking late to seal a comeback victory after a frantic opening and a tense final 20 minutes.

The match exploded into life inside the first five minutes. Nicolas Firmino gave Lexington the lead just 60 seconds in, finishing off a Goodrum pass to stun the home side early. Monterey Bay responded almost immediately — Zackery Farnsworth leveled it in the fifth minute, converting from a Quinton Elliot delivery to make it 1–1.

The game settled after that fast start, though Monterey Bay's discipline became an issue. Farnsworth, the goalscorer, was booked in the 23rd minute. Joel Garcia and Kelsey Egwu followed him into the referee's notebook in quick succession midway through the second half.

Lexington broke the deadlock in the 74th minute when Goodrum got on the scoresheet himself, finishing from an Aaron Molloy feed to put the visitors ahead. Six minutes later, Epps doubled the advantage, making it 3–1 after Braudílio Rodrigues picked him out.

Monterey Bay pulled one back through Diego Otoya in the 85th minute, set up by Wesley Leggett, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation. Egwu picked up a second yellow in the 90th minute as frustrations boiled over, and Fidel Barajas was also cautioned in stoppage time — five bookings in total for a Monterey Bay side that lost its composure down the stretch.

The result gives Lexington a valuable three points on the road as the regular season enters its final weeks.
