Hartford Athletic picked up a comfortable 2-0 win at Brooklyn FC on Friday night, with second-half goals from Samuel Careaga and Michee Ngalina securing all three points on the road in USL Championship action.

The first half produced little to separate the two sides, with neither team finding the breakthrough before the interval. Brooklyn held firm through the opening 45 minutes, but Hartford's patience paid off midway through the second half.

Careaga broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute, converting from a Barry Coffey delivery to give Hartford Athletic the lead. The goal shifted the momentum firmly in the visitors' favor, and Brooklyn struggled to find an immediate response.

Tommy McNamara picked up a yellow card in the 70th minute as frustration began to creep into the home side's play. Hartford's Sebastian Anderson was also cautioned nine minutes later, but the visitors never looked like surrendering their advantage.

Hartford put the result beyond doubt in the 86th minute when Ngalina doubled the lead, finishing off a Jordan Scarlett assist to make it 2-0. Brooklyn had no answer in the closing stages, and the final whistle confirmed a deserved Hartford victory.

The win gives Hartford Athletic valuable points on the road and continues to build momentum during the spring stretch of the USL Championship season, while Brooklyn FC will need to regroup quickly after a shutout defeat at home.
