El Paso Locomotive FC held off a persistent Las Vegas Lights FC side to claim a 3–2 victory at home on Saturday in USL Championship action. Amando Moreno scored twice for El Paso, with Rubio Rubín adding the other, while Christian Pinzon and Johnny Rodriguez found the net for Las Vegas in a back-and-forth contest.

El Paso struck first in the seventh minute when Moreno finished from a Robert Coronado feed to give the hosts an early lead. Las Vegas responded well. Pinzon equalized in the 23rd minute, converting off a Ben Mines pass to level the score at 1–1. The game stayed tight until Rubín restored El Paso's advantage in the 34th minute, putting away his chance to make it 2–1 heading into the break.

Moreno wasted little time after halftime. Just three minutes into the second half, he grabbed his second of the night, getting on the end of a Ricky Ruiz delivery to extend El Paso's lead to 3–1. That two-goal cushion looked comfortable, but Las Vegas refused to fold. Rodriguez pulled one back in the 60th minute, finishing from a Themi Antonoglou assist to set up a nervy final half hour.
