AV ALTA FC cruised to a comfortable 3–0 victory over Fort Wayne FC in USL League One action on Saturday, with goals from Jerry Desdunes (37'), Miguel Ibarra (54'), and Joaquin Acuna (90') sealing all three points.
The hosts controlled the first half and broke the deadlock just past the half-hour mark. Desdunes found the net in the 37th minute to give AV ALTA FC a deserved lead heading into the break.
Fort Wayne needed a response after halftime but never found one. Instead, AV ALTA FC doubled their advantage nine minutes into the second half when Ibarra finished off a chance created by Desdunes, who added a provider's role to his earlier goal. The two-goal cushion effectively killed the contest, and Fort Wayne's frustration began to show — Jon Paul Jordan II picked up a yellow card in the 59th minute, and Daniel Oyetunde was booked in the 87th as the visitors' discipline slipped.
AV ALTA FC weren't entirely clean either, collecting two yellows of their own through Jimmie Villalobos and Nicholas Relerford, but neither booking disrupted their control of the match. Acuna put the finishing touch on the result deep in the 90th minute, converting from an Adam Aoumaich delivery to round off a dominant performance.
Fort Wayne rarely threatened and managed little going forward across the 90 minutes, leaving with nothing to show for the trip.
The shutout win strengthens AV ALTA FC's position in the League One standings and caps a convincing night that will give the squad confidence heading into the stretch run of the season.
