Forward Madison FC cruised past New York Cosmos 3–1 at home on Saturday in USL League One action, with Ryan Carmichael, Roman Torres, and Jackson Castro all finding the net. Sebastián Guenzatti grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

The hosts picked up an early yellow card when Kevin Carmichael was booked in the 17th minute, but the caution did little to slow Forward Madison's momentum. Eight minutes later, Ryan Carmichael opened the scoring, finishing off a Roman Torres feed to make it 1–0 in the 25th minute. Torres then doubled the advantage just three minutes later, this time getting on the scoresheet himself. The quick-fire double left the Cosmos reeling heading into the break.

Kerfalla Toure was cautioned for the home side in the 38th minute as the game grew more physical, a theme that carried into the second half.

Castro extended the lead to three goals shortly after the restart, scoring in the 48th minute to effectively put the contest out of reach. He picked up a yellow card of his own ten minutes later, one of four Madison players booked on the afternoon.

The Cosmos finally responded in the 76th minute when Guenzatti converted from a Nick Zielonka delivery to pull one back. Philip Spengler had been booked three minutes earlier as New York's frustration mounted. The final ten minutes saw cards for both sides — Sergio Chavez for the Cosmos and Bibi Karamoko for Madison — but no further goals.

The comfortable victory gives Forward Madison three important points at home and reinforces their credentials as a side capable of controlling matches from start to finish this season.
