NPSLCruizers FC earned a 2–1 victory away at Real San Jose in NPSL action on Friday night, with J. Ravelo opening the scoring in the 17th minute and an own goal from Real San Jose's J. Guerrero doubling the lead before N. Reyneveld pulled one back late.
The match turned feisty early. Cruizers' M. Márquez Chicas picked up a yellow card just seven minutes in, setting an aggressive tone that would define much of the contest. Ravelo then gave the visitors the lead in the 17th minute, and Cruizers carried that advantage deep into the second half.
Guerrero's own goal in the 59th minute made it 2–0 and left Real San Jose with a mountain to climb. Reyneveld offered a lifeline seven minutes later, cutting the deficit to one in the 66th minute, but the hosts couldn't find an equalizer despite sustained pressure.
The final stretch descended into chaos. Yellow cards flew — J. Jimenez in the 76th minute, E. Monterrosa in the 79th, Reyneveld in the 86th, and goalscorer Ravelo in the 88th. Then came the red cards. D. Cortez of Real San Jose and Márquez Chicas — who had been walking a tightrope since his early booking — were both dismissed in the 89th minute, before Cruizers' H. Rodríguez Balmaceda followed them off in the 90th. Three players sent off in the space of two minutes painted a picture of a game that boiled over once the result was effectively decided.
The win gives Cruizers FC valuable points on the road in the early stages of the NPSL season.
