NPSLWC Predators and New Jersey United AC played out a breathless 4–4 draw in NPSL action on Monday, with all eight goals coming in two chaotic bursts — four in a first-half three-minute spell and four more in the final seven minutes.
T. Barboto picked up an early yellow card for the Predators in the third minute, but the hosts settled and took the lead through D. Navas in the 20th minute. The game then erupted. A. Fedor equalized for New Jersey United in the 30th minute, only for Navas to restore the Predators' advantage just 60 seconds later. The visitors hit back immediately again — O. Steinicke making it 2–2 in the 33rd minute. Four goals in three minutes, and somehow neither side could find another before halftime.
The second half was a stalemate for long stretches until the 83rd minute, when J. Thomas fired New Jersey United ahead for the first time at 3–2. W. Pfau was booked two minutes later as tensions rose, but the Predators pulled level through R. Naftali in the 86th minute. B. Eastlack then went into the book in the 89th minute as New Jersey United struggled to contain the momentum shift.
The final minute delivered two more goals. A player listed as "Hidden Player" on the scoresheet put the Predators ahead 4–3 in the 90th minute, and it looked like a dramatic winner. It wasn't. Z. DeVeaux rescued a point for New Jersey United AC, also scoring in the 90th minute to cap a remarkable eight-goal contest.
A point apiece does little to separate two sides who will feel they could have won — and probably should have lost.
