Spokane Velocity FC edged Athletic Club Boise 2–1 in USL League One action on Saturday, with all three goals arriving in a frantic five-minute spell midway through the second half. Camron Miller and Andre Lewis struck for the hosts, while Sean Lewis pulled one back for Boise.

The first half was a scrappy affair, short on goals but not on cards. Gagi Margvelashvili was booked for Spokane in the 38th minute, and Boise's Thomas Amang followed him into the referee's notebook three minutes later. Jake Crull picked up another yellow for Athletic Club Boise early in the second half, and by the 66th minute Denys Kostyshyn had joined him, giving Boise three cautions on the night.

The deadlock broke in the 71st minute when Miller finished from a Derek Waldeck delivery to put Spokane ahead. Three minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage — Andre Lewis converting after good work from Neco Brett to make it 2–0. Boise could have crumbled. Instead, Sean Lewis responded almost immediately in the 76th minute, cutting the deficit in half and injecting late tension into the contest.

That two-goal cushion, even briefly held, proved enough. Spokane saw out the final 14 minutes without conceding again, holding firm despite Boise's push for an equalizer.

The win gives Spokane Velocity FC valuable points at home in what shapes up as a tightly contested League One season, while Boise will rue a sluggish stretch that saw them fall behind twice before they could respond.
