Spokane Zephyr FC cruised to a 3–0 victory over Brooklyn FC in USL Super League action on Saturday, with goals from Reese Tappan (36'), Tori Waldeck (41'), and Ginger Fontenot (61') sealing a comfortable home win.

The first half hour was a scrappy affair. Brooklyn's Kristina Markovic picked up an early booking in the ninth minute, and Spokane's Felicia Knox followed her into the referee's notebook twenty minutes later. Neither side had found a breakthrough, but the game tilted decisively in Spokane's favor late in the first half.

Tappan opened the scoring in the 36th minute, finishing from a Waldeck delivery to give the Zephyr the lead. Five minutes later, Waldeck got on the scoresheet herself, converting off a pass from Ginger Fontenot to double the advantage before halftime. Brooklyn had no answer for the quick combination play, and the two-goal cushion gave Spokane full control heading into the break.

The second half was chippy. Sophie Braun and Brooklyn's Leah Scarpelli were both cautioned within a minute of each other around the 55-minute mark, but Spokane stayed focused on the task. Fontenot put the result beyond doubt in the 61st minute, finishing from a Lena Silano assist to make it 3–0. More yellow cards followed — Silano was booked in the 64th minute, Brooklyn's Jordan Thompson four minutes later, and Katie Murray deep in stoppage time — but nothing changed the complexion of a match Spokane had long since wrapped up.

The dominant win strengthens Spokane Zephyr FC's position in the USL Super League standings and extends what has been a difficult stretch for a Brooklyn side that struggled to create anything meaningful on the road.
