Charleston Battery earned a comfortable 2-0 road victory over Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday night, with Maalique Foster scoring twice to seal all three points in the USL Championship contest.

The first half was a cagey affair until the closing stages. Las Vegas picked up a yellow card through Nykolas Sessock in the 38th minute, and Charleston made them pay almost immediately. Just two minutes later, Foster opened the scoring, latching onto a Langston Blackstock delivery to put the Battery ahead heading into the break.

Las Vegas needed a response in the second half but never found one. Instead, it was Charleston who extended their advantage. Foster grabbed his second of the night in the 59th minute, finishing from a Miguel Berry pass to double the lead and effectively put the game to bed.

The Lights offered little in the way of a comeback. Without a single goal to show for their efforts, the hosts struggled to create meaningful chances against a disciplined Charleston side that looked assured after going two up. Foster could have had more on another night, but his brace was more than enough.

For Charleston Battery, the win strengthens their position in the standings and continues a productive spell on the road, while Las Vegas Lights FC will need to regroup quickly as the season enters its decisive stretch.
