Orange County SC and Las Vegas Lights FC shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with Lyam MacKinnon opening the scoring early and Nighte Pickering salvaging a late equalizer for the visitors.

Orange County took the lead in the 22nd minute when MacKinnon finished off a Marcelo Palomino assist to put the hosts ahead. It was a deserved advantage for a side that had started on the front foot, and Las Vegas struggled to find an immediate response. The Lights' frustration showed when Carson Locker picked up a yellow card in the 34th minute, and the visitors went into halftime trailing by a goal.

The second half followed a similar pattern for long stretches, with Orange County holding their lead comfortably as the clock ticked past the hour mark. Las Vegas, however, refused to fold. With six minutes of regulation remaining, Pickering latched onto a Christian Pinzon pass and buried the equalizer in the 84th minute to stun the home crowd and level the match.

Orange County had no answer in the closing minutes, and the game ended level at one apiece. Neither side could find a winner, and the final whistle confirmed a share of the spoils.

The draw will leave both teams with mixed feelings early in the 2026 campaign — Orange County left to rue a lead they couldn't protect, while Las Vegas can take confidence from a gutsy comeback on the road.
