Lexington SC came from behind to beat Carolina Ascent FC 2–1 on the road in USL Super League action on Saturday, with McKenzie Weinert scoring the winner seven minutes into the second half after Alyssa Bourgeois had leveled before the break. Riley Parker had opened the scoring for the hosts.

Carolina Ascent started the brighter of the two sides. Parker broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, finishing from a Mia Corbin delivery to give the home team a deserved lead. At that point, the hosts looked comfortable.

That comfort didn't last. Lexington equalized before halftime through Bourgeois in the 43rd minute, converting after good work from Allison Pantuso. It was a gut punch for Carolina, who had controlled much of the first half and went into the break knowing the momentum had shifted.

Lexington carried that energy into the second half. Weinert — who had been booked early in the match for a 12th-minute challenge — completed the turnaround in the 52nd minute, getting on the end of a Catherine Barry pass to put the visitors ahead. It was a composed finish from a player walking a disciplinary tightrope.

Carolina pushed for an equalizer but grew increasingly frustrated as the half wore on. Jillienne Aguilera picked up a yellow card in the 73rd minute, and Rylee Baisden followed into the book eight minutes later as the hosts' challenge became more frantic than clinical. Lexington held firm without major scares.

The result gives Lexington SC a valuable three points on the road and deals a blow to Carolina Ascent's ambitions as the season progresses.
