El Paso Locomotive FC earned a 1–2 victory at Louisville City FC on Saturday night in USL Championship action, with goals from Alex Méndez and Rubio Rubín enough to withstand a late Louisville response through Manny Perez.

The visitors struck first in the 24th minute when Méndez found the net, giving El Paso an early advantage. The goal came just moments after Louisville's Brandon Dayes had been shown a yellow card, and the hosts struggled to settle in the aftermath.

El Paso doubled their lead right before halftime. Amando Moreno picked out Rubín, who converted in the 45th minute to send Louisville into the break facing a two-goal deficit.

Louisville came out with more urgency in the second half but could not find a breakthrough until the 77th minute, when Perez finished from a Taylor Davila assist to pull one back and inject some tension into the closing stages. The home side pushed for an equalizer in the minutes that followed, but El Paso's defense held firm. Rubín picked up a late yellow card as the Locomotive saw the game out.

The result gives El Paso a valuable three points on the road and dents Louisville City's momentum at home, with the stretch run of the USL Championship regular season firmly underway.
