Las Vegas Lights FC earned a 2-1 road victory over Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night, with goals from Oalex Anderson and Johnny Rodriguez enough to hold off a late Birmingham rally. Sebastián Saucedo pulled one back in the 89th minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

The Lights took the lead early. Anderson struck in the 15th minute to put the visitors ahead, and Las Vegas carried that advantage through the remainder of the first half without major incident.

Birmingham came out pressing after the break but quickly found themselves in trouble with the referee. Keegan Hughes picked up a yellow card just three minutes into the second half, setting the tone for a frustrating 45 minutes for the home side. Rodriguez then doubled the Las Vegas lead on the hour mark, finishing off a Christian Pinzon assist to make it 2-0.

From there, Legion FC's discipline unraveled. Two more yellow cards followed — one in the 73rd minute and another to Seth Antwi in the 83rd — as Birmingham grew increasingly desperate chasing the game. Saucedo finally broke through in the 89th minute, converting from a Tyler Pasher delivery to cut the deficit to one. Any hope of a dramatic equalizer faded quickly, though, and Saucedo himself was booked deep in stoppage time as the final whistle approached.

Four yellow cards and a two-goal hole to dig out of told the story of Birmingham's night — too little composure, too late a response. The result gives Las Vegas a valuable three points on the road and leaves Legion FC searching for answers at home.
