Burlington United FC and Mint Hill FC played out a 2–2 draw in NPSL action on Wednesday, with all four goals coming inside the final half-hour of the match or later. A. Zhu and V. Ortez Nunez scored for Burlington, while C. Verdin and D. Kubrynski found the net for Mint Hill.

The first half was a largely cagey affair. Burlington's A. Weber picked up a yellow card in the 25th minute, and two minutes later Zhu broke the deadlock to give the hosts a 1–0 lead heading into the break.

That advantage held until the 63rd minute, when Verdin equalized for Mint Hill to make it 1–1. The visitors' J. Hurley was cautioned shortly after, in the 66th minute, as the match began to open up.

Burlington looked to have won it when Ortez Nunez restored the home side's lead in the 72nd minute, putting them 2–1 ahead with fewer than 20 minutes to play. Mint Hill, though, refused to fold. Kubrynski pulled the visitors level again in the 80th minute, and this time neither team could find a winner.

Four goals in a 17-minute stretch — from the 63rd to the 80th — turned what had been a tight, low-event contest into a back-and-forth finish. Burlington twice held the lead and twice saw it slip away, while Mint Hill showed enough resilience to come from behind on both occasions.

The shared points mean neither side could gain significant ground in the NPSL standings, though Mint Hill will feel the better about a point earned on the road.
