Phoenix Rising FC edged FC Tulsa 2–1 at home on Saturday night, with Gunnar Studenthofft's 88th-minute strike proving the difference after a late Tulsa consolation. Dominique Badji opened the scoring early, Studenthofft added the winner deep in the second half, and Delentz Pierre pulled one back for Tulsa in stoppage time.

The hosts wasted no time setting the tone. Badji latched onto a ball from Juan Torres and found the net in just the sixth minute, giving Phoenix Rising an early cushion. From there, the game settled into a tighter affair. Luke Biasi picked up a yellow card in the 39th minute for Phoenix, but neither side could change the scoreline before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern — Phoenix controlled proceedings without adding to their lead for long stretches. That changed in the 88th minute when Studenthofft converted from a Tate Schmitt delivery to double the advantage and seemingly put the result beyond doubt.

Tulsa, though, refused to go quietly. Pierre headed home — finished off a Wilson Eisner assist — in the fourth minute of stoppage time to cut the deficit to one. Ian had been booked moments earlier in the 92nd minute as tensions rose late. But it was too little, too late. The final whistle came shortly after, and Phoenix held on.

The win keeps Phoenix Rising FC pushing in the USL Championship standings as the regular season enters its final weeks, a timely three points that could prove crucial in the playoff race.
