Carolina Ascent FC rallied from an early deficit to beat Sporting JAX 3–1 at home on Friday night, with goals from Shea Groom, Tyler Lussi, and Jillienne Aguilera completing a comfortable second-half finish after a competitive opening 45 minutes.
Sporting JAX struck first. Abby Boyan gave the visitors the lead in the seventh minute, finishing from a Sophia Boman assist to put Carolina on the back foot early. The advantage lasted nine minutes. Groom equalized in the 16th minute, settling the home side and shifting momentum in Carolina's favor.
Boyan, already the game's most prominent figure, picked up a yellow card in the 24th minute — a booking that seemed to limit her influence for the remainder of the match. Lussi then put Carolina ahead before halftime, scoring in the 36th minute to give the hosts a 2–1 lead at the break.
The second half belonged almost entirely to Carolina Ascent. Philip Poole was cautioned in the 56th minute, but the booking did little to disrupt the home side's rhythm. Aguilera added the third in the 74
