Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC picked up a comfortable 2-0 win on the road against Louisville City FC on Friday night, with Trevor Amann and Samuel Bassett finding the net in either half to seal all three points.

The Riverhounds wasted little time asserting themselves. Amann opened the scoring in the ninth minute, giving Pittsburgh an early cushion and forcing Louisville into a chasing game from the outset. Louisville struggled to find a meaningful response before the break, and the visitors went into halftime with their lead intact.

Any hopes of a Louisville comeback were dealt a blow seven minutes into the second half. Bassett doubled Pittsburgh's advantage in the 52nd minute, finishing from a Charles Ahl delivery to put the Riverhounds firmly in control. From that point, the task facing Louisville looked steep.

Frustration crept into the home side's play as the half wore on. Carlos Moguel was booked in the 61st minute, and Sean Totsch followed him into the referee's notebook six minutes later as Louisville's discipline frayed. Neither yellow card changed the shape of the game, but they underlined a growing sense of desperation from the hosts, who could find no way through Pittsburgh's defense.

The Riverhounds saw out the remaining minutes without serious alarm, keeping a clean sheet on the road — never an easy feat at Louisville City FC. Pittsburgh barely needed a third gear to get the job done.

The result marks a strong away performance for the Riverhounds and could prove significant in the USL Championship standings as the season pushes deeper into the spring schedule.
