Brooklyn FC came from behind to beat Hartford Athletic 3-2 on the road in USL Championship play Saturday, with goals from Abdoulaye Kanté, John Klein, and Christopher Olney Jr. completing a second-half comeback. Michael Adedokun and Sadat Anaku had scored for the hosts.
Hartford struck first. Adedokun opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing from a Barry Coffey feed to give the home side a 1-0 lead they carried into the break.
The second half was chaos. Kanté pulled Brooklyn level in the 55th minute, converting off a Thomas Vancaeyezeele delivery. Hartford needed barely two minutes to respond — Anaku restored the advantage in the 57th, set up by Emmanuel Samadia, and the hosts looked in control at 2-1.
They weren't. Klein equalized for Brooklyn in the 63rd minute after Olney Jr. found him, and Olney Jr. then grabbed the winner himself in the 79th, finishing a Jaden Servania pass to cap a three-goal turnaround inside 24 minutes.
Brooklyn got the job done, but their discipline was another story. Anthony Fontana picked up two yellow cards — one in each half, at the 43rd and 73rd minutes. Tommy McNamara, Malik Pinto, and Servania were also booked, meaning the visitors collected five cautions on the night. Yet they held firm through a scrappy final ten minutes to see out the result.
The win gives Brooklyn a crucial three points on the road as the USL Championship season nears its conclusion.
