Union Omaha and the New York Cosmos played out a 1–1 draw in USL League One on Saturday, with Marlon Vargas opening the scoring early before Sebastián Guenzatti leveled for the visitors midway through the first half.

Omaha struck first in the ninth minute. Laurence Wootton delivered the key pass, and Vargas finished to give the hosts an early advantage. The home side looked comfortable for a spell, but the match began to turn scrappy. Wootton, the provider of the opening goal, was booked in the 24th minute — the first of what would become a long list of cautions for Union Omaha.

The Cosmos found their equalizer in the 35th minute. Philip Spengler picked out Guenzatti, and the experienced forward made no mistake to draw New York level. The final stretch of the first half grew increasingly fractious, with Brent Kallman cautioned for Omaha in the 40th minute, Ozzie Ramos booked for the Cosmos three minutes later, and Camron Lawrence also picking up a yellow before the break.

Union Omaha's discipline problems continued after halftime. Samuel Owusu saw yellow on the hour mark, and Sami Guediri was cautioned late on, bringing the hosts' tally to five bookings on the night. Despite the persistent fouling, neither side could find a winner, and the second half passed without a goal.

The point leaves both teams still searching for momentum as the season enters its final stretch, with neither side able to capitalize on a result that ultimately satisfied no one.
