Monterey Bay FC and Sacramento Republic FC played out a 1–1 draw in the USL Championship on Saturday, with Omari Glasgow's first-half strike canceled out by a late Cal Jennings equalizer in the 84th minute.

The first half was largely defined by its closing moments. Glasgow broke the deadlock just before the break, finishing off a Fidel Barajas assist in the 44th minute to send Monterey Bay into halftime with the advantage. It was a well-timed goal that gave the hosts something to protect heading into the second period.

Sacramento struggled to find a response for much of the second half. Monterey Bay looked comfortable managing their lead, though Joel Garcia picked up a yellow card in the 77th minute — a sign that the Republic were beginning to apply sustained pressure.

That pressure eventually told. Jennings, one of the most reliable finishers in the league, pulled Sacramento level with six minutes of regular time remaining. Kyle Edwards provided the assist, and Jennings made no mistake, dragging the visitors back into a game that had seemed to be slipping away from them.

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages, and the points were shared.

The draw will feel like two dropped for Monterey Bay, who held the lead for 40 minutes before conceding. For Sacramento, a point salvaged on the road keeps them in the mix as the season enters its final stretch.
