Union Omaha picked up a comfortable 2–0 home victory over Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday, with Kempes Waldemar Tekiela and Diego Gutiérrez finding the net in the second half to secure all three points in USL League One action.

The first half produced no goals but plenty of needle. Greenville's Ivan Agyaakwah was booked in the 24th minute, and Union Omaha's Brent Kallman followed him into the referee's notebook four minutes later. Neither side could break the deadlock before the interval.

The game opened up after the break. Tekiela gave Union Omaha the lead in the 53rd minute, finishing from a Dylan Borczak delivery to put the hosts in front. Greenville pushed for an equalizer but struggled to create clear-cut chances, and their frustration mounted as the clock wound down. Kimito Fritz and Louis Herrera were both cautioned in the 80th minute as tempers flared.

Union Omaha put the result beyond doubt deep into stoppage time. Gutiérrez latched onto a Laurence Wootton pass in the 90+2' minute to double the advantage and kill off any remaining Greenville hopes. Azaad Liadi picked up a late yellow card for the visitors moments later as the game fizzled out.

Greenville finished with four bookings on the night — a reflection of a side that grew increasingly desperate as the match slipped away from them.

The win bolsters Union Omaha's position in the League One standings early in the season, while Greenville will need to regroup quickly after a shutout loss on the road.
