AV ALTA FC and Athletic Club Boise played out a 2–2 draw in USL League One on Saturday, with Denys Kostyshyn and Adam Aoumaich trading first-half goals before Nick Moon and Jerry Desdunes exchanged strikes in the second.
Boise drew first blood in the 14th minute. Kostyshyn finished off a Blake Bodily delivery to put the visitors ahead early. The lead lasted less than ten minutes. Aoumaich equalized in the 23rd, converting from an Osvaldo Lay chance to level things at one apiece heading toward halftime.
Kostyshyn picked up a yellow card in the 35th minute — a booking that tempered his involvement for the remainder of the match.
The second half opened scrappily. Lay was cautioned three minutes after the restart, and by the 56th minute both sides had players booked in quick succession — Miguel Ibarra for AV ALTA and Jake Dengler for Boise. The rising tension didn't stop the goals from coming.
Moon restored Boise's lead in the 59th minute, getting on the end of a Jake Crull pass to make it 2–1. AV ALTA looked like they might be heading for defeat, but Desdunes had other ideas. He pulled the hosts level in the 79th minute, finishing from a Collin Anderson assist to spark a chaotic final stretch.
The closing minutes were littered with cards. Kaloyan Pehlivanov, Phillip Mayaka, and Thomas Amang were all booked within a three-minute span as frustrations boiled over, but neither side could find a winner.
The draw leaves both teams still searching for separation in the early weeks of the USL League One season.
