Oakland Roots SC earned a comfortable 2-0 victory away at Las Vegas Lights FC in USL Championship action on Saturday, with goals from Jesús de Vicente and Tucker Lepley sealing all three points on the road.

The first half was a cagey affair. Oakland's Keegan Tingey picked up a yellow card in the 34th minute, but the visitors weren't rattled. De Vicente broke the deadlock just before halftime, striking in the 41st minute to give Oakland a deserved lead heading into the break.

Las Vegas came out needing a response in the second half but never found one. Tyler Gibson was booked for Oakland in the 51st minute as tensions crept into the game, yet it was the Roots who extended their advantage eight minutes later. Tucker Lepley made it 2-0 in the 59th minute, finishing off a Wolfgang Prentice delivery to put the result beyond serious doubt.

The Lights struggled to create meaningful chances in the final 30 minutes. Oakland managed the game well despite collecting a third yellow card of the evening — Florian Valot going into the book in the 88th minute. Three cautions across the match hinted at an aggressive edge from the visitors, but the disciplinary issues never truly threatened to undo their work.

Las Vegas offered little in response, and the final whistle confirmed a shutout win for Oakland on the road.
