Oakland Stompers and El Farolito played out a goalless draw in NPSL action on Saturday, with neither side able to find a breakthrough across 90 minutes.

The first half passed without major incident, as the two sides struggled to create clear-cut chances. The game remained scoreless heading into the break, setting the stage for what became an increasingly tense and fractious second half.

El Farolito's discipline began to slip as the match wore on. H. Coulibaly was the first into the referee's notebook in the 67th minute, picking up a yellow card. E. Luna Ramirez followed in the 81st minute, and J. Saggau was cautioned in the 90th minute — three bookings for the visitors in the final quarter of the match. The accumulation of cards suggested El Farolito were doing plenty of defending in the closing stages, though the Stompers ultimately couldn't capitalize.

For Oakland, the blank in front of goal will be the main frustration. A home fixture against a side that finished with three yellow cards in 23 minutes should have yielded more. El Farolito, meanwhile, will feel a point on the road is a reasonable return, particularly given the pressure they appeared to absorb late on.

The draw leaves both teams sharing the spoils in what amounts to a missed opportunity for the Stompers to pick up a full three points at home in the NPSL regular season.
