Indy Eleven edged Rhode Island FC 1–0 at home on Saturday, with Bruno Manuel Rendón striking in the 55th minute to secure all three points in USL Championship action.

The first half was a scrappy, physical affair. Rhode Island's Amos Shapiro-Thompson picked up the game's first booking just eight minutes in, and Indy's Noble Okello followed with a yellow of his own in the 15th minute. The cards kept coming — Rendón himself was cautioned in the 36th minute for a challenge that could have complicated his evening. It didn't.

The deadlock broke ten minutes into the second half. Aodhan Quinn delivered the key pass, and Rendón finished to put Indy ahead. It was a moment of quality after a first half that had produced more fouls than clear chances. Rhode Island's Clay Holstad was booked a minute later as the visitors' frustration began to show.

Rhode Island FC pushed for an equalizer in the final third of the match but could not find a way through. Indy Eleven's defense held firm, and the home side saw out the result without major scares.

Rendón's goal — scored despite carrying a yellow card — proved to be the difference. Quinn's contribution in the buildup was equally important, providing the assist that unlocked a Rhode Island backline that had otherwise held steady.

The victory gives Indy Eleven a valuable three points as the season approaches the midway mark, keeping them in the hunt in a competitive Eastern Conference.
