American Soccer Club New York cruised to a 1–3 away victory over New York Shockers in NPSL action on July 8, with J. Rosero's second-half brace setting the tone before D. Pederson added a late third. B. Walker grabbed a consolation for the Shockers in stoppage time.

The first half produced more cards than chances. J. Gil Mejia picked up a yellow for the Shockers in the seventh minute, and B. DaCosta was booked for ASC New York in the 20th. Neither side found a breakthrough before the break.

The game swung decisively after halftime. Rosero opened the scoring in the 58th minute, then struck again just three minutes later to put ASC New York firmly in control at 0–2. The Shockers had no immediate answer, and the visitors managed the game comfortably through the middle stretch of the second half.

Tempers began to fray as the clock wound down. R. Apolon was cautioned in the 70th minute, followed by A. Hallinan nine minutes later — both ASC New York players picking up yellows as the away side looked to see out the result. Pederson made it 0–3 in the 87th minute, effectively ending the contest.

Walker's 90th-minute strike gave the Shockers something to show for their efforts, but it was far too late to spark a comeback. Both M. Fazio and K. Romero were booked in added time as frustrations boiled over in the closing moments.

The result strengthens ASC New York's position in the NPSL standings, while the Shockers will need to regroup quickly after a second half that got away from them entirely.
