Lexington SC came from behind early and held on for a 2–1 victory over Sporting JAX in USL Super League action on Saturday. Addie McCain opened the scoring in the 19th minute for Lexington, Ashlyn Puerta equalized for the hosts in the 31st, and McKenzie Weinert restored Lexington's lead just four minutes later to settle the contest.

The match got chippy fast. Sporting JAX's Maggie Illig picked up a yellow card in just the sixth minute, setting an edgy tone. Lexington took advantage of the early momentum, with McCain finishing off a Taylor Aylmer delivery in the 19th minute to put the visitors ahead.

Sporting JAX pushed back. Allison Pantuso was booked for Lexington in the 30th minute, and a minute later Puerta pulled the home side level at 1–1. The equalizer seemed to spark life into JAX, but the response was short-lived. In the 35th minute, Weinert converted from a Catherine Barry assist to make it 2–1 Lexington, and the visitors carried that lead into the break.

The second half produced fewer clear moments of note but no shortage of tension. McCain, already on the scoresheet, was cautioned in the 44th minute — a booking that will have given Lexington's bench something to think about. Hannah Johnson joined her in the referee's notebook late on, picking up a yellow in the 89th minute as Lexington saw out the final moments.

The win gives Lexington SC a valuable three points on the road and further solidifies their push in the USL Super League standings as the season enters its stretch run.
