One Knoxville SC and Portland Hearts of Pine played out a 1–1 draw in USL League One on Wednesday night, with Babacar Diene's late equalizer canceling out Diego Gonzalez's second-half opener for the visitors.

The first half produced no goals but plenty of needle. Portland's Bobby Murphy was booked in the 23rd minute, and Gonzalez followed him into the referee's notebook just two minutes later as tempers flared early.

Portland broke the deadlock in the 57th minute. Gonzalez, despite his earlier caution, found the net after Tyler Huck picked him out to give Hearts of Pine a deserved lead. The goal forced One Knoxville into a more urgent posture as the clock ticked deeper into the second half.

Finn McRobb was cautioned in the 78th minute for the home side as frustration grew. But One Knoxville kept pushing, and the persistence paid off with four minutes of normal time remaining. Teddy Baker delivered the ball into a dangerous area, and Diene was there to finish it off, leveling the score at 1–1 in the 86th minute. Diene picked up a yellow card for his celebration — worth it, no doubt, from his perspective.

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages, and the points were shared.

The draw keeps both teams locked in the middle of the USL League One table, with neither able to build significant momentum as the season enters its final stretch.
