Charleston Battery picked up a comfortable 2-0 win on the road against Louisville City FC on Saturday, with goals from Laurent Kissiedou and Kirill Pakhomov sealing all three points in USL Championship action.

The Battery took the lead in the 20th minute when Kissiedou finished from a Jeremy Kelly delivery to put the visitors ahead. Louisville struggled to find an immediate response, and Charleston's disciplinary issues began to mount before halftime — Houssou Landry was booked in the 40th minute, followed by Douglas Martínez just a minute later. Despite the cautions, Charleston took their one-goal advantage into the break without much trouble.

Louisville needed a strong second-half performance to turn things around, but it was Charleston who struck next. Pakhomov doubled the lead in the 65th minute, converting from a Joey Akpunonu assist to give the Battery a two-goal cushion. From there, the visitors managed the game effectively, even as referee patience wore thin — Maalique Foster picked up a yellow in the 77th minute, and Luis Zamudio was booked in stoppage time, bringing Charleston's tally to four cautions on the night. None of it mattered. Louisville never seriously threatened a comeback, and the Battery saw the match out with relative ease.

It was a frustrating evening for Louisville City FC at home, while Charleston's clinical finishing on both their opportunities highlighted the difference between the two sides. The result gives the Battery early-season momentum and valuable points on the road in what promises to be a competitive Championship campaign.
