Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC powered past Phoenix Rising FC 3–1 on Independence Day, with Adrien Pérez scoring twice and setting up another to take command of the USL Championship contest. Gunnar Studenthofft opened the scoring early for the visitors, but goals from Pérez in the 34th and 79th minutes, along with Garven-Michee Metusala's strike in the 48th, sealed a comfortable home victory.

Phoenix got off to the better start. Studenthofft gave Rising the lead just four minutes in, finishing off a Daniel Flores delivery to stun the hosts. For much of the opening half-hour, Colorado Springs chased the game.

The Switchbacks found their equalizer in the 34th minute when Pérez latched onto a Frank Daroma pass and converted to make it 1–1. Phoenix's frustration began to show before the break, with Eziah Ramirez picking up a yellow card in the 42nd minute.

Colorado Springs came out sharp after halftime. Metusala put them ahead three minutes into the second half, finishing from a Pérez assist to cap a quick turnaround. It was the Frenchman turning provider after doing the damage himself in the first half.

Rising pushed for a response but struggled to create clear chances, and Gilberto Rivera was booked in the 73rd minute as challenges grew more desperate. Pérez then put the result beyond doubt in the 79th minute, collecting from Aidan Rocha and netting his second of the evening to make it 3–1.

The win gives Colorado Springs valuable points at home and keeps their momentum alive heading deeper into the summer stretch of the USL Championship season.
