Lexington SC cruised to a dominant 4–0 victory over Tampa Bay Sun FC on Saturday, with Catherine Barry scoring a hat trick and McKenzie Weinert adding the opener in a comprehensive USL Super League performance.

The tone was set early when Tampa Bay's Maddie Pokorny picked up a yellow card in the 16th minute, and Lexington made the visitors pay just four minutes later. Taylor Aylmer provided the assist for Weinert, who converted in the 20th minute to give the hosts the lead heading into halftime. Tampa Bay's frustrations continued to mount before the break, with Sandrine Mauron also going into the book on 38 minutes.

Whatever was said at halftime in the Lexington dressing room, it worked. Barry took over the match almost immediately after the restart, finishing from an Alyssa Bourgeois feed in the 49th minute to double the advantage. Barely 60 seconds later, she struck again — this time unassisted — to make it 3–0 and effectively end the contest before the hour mark.

Barry wasn't done. She completed her hat trick in the 64th minute, latching onto a pass from Sarah Griffith to round off a ruthless individual display. Three goals in 15 minutes from the same player left Tampa Bay with no route back.

The Sun FC had no answer across 90 minutes, rarely threatening and spending much of the second half chasing shadows as Lexington controlled proceedings at will.

The result strengthens Lexington SC's position in the USL Super League standings and extends what has been a miserable run for a Tampa Bay side that looked outclassed from start to finish.
