Louisville City FC ground out a 1–0 victory over Hartford Athletic on Independence Day, with Jansen Wilson's 67th-minute strike proving the difference in a tightly contested USL Championship affair.

The first half offered little in the way of goals but plenty of needle. Hartford's Galen Flynn picked up a yellow card in the 38th minute as tensions simmered between the two sides. Neither team managed to break the deadlock before the interval.

Louisville came out with more purpose after the break, though Sean Totsch was cautioned in the 54th minute — a booking that forced the home side to manage the rest of the half carefully. The breakthrough arrived in the 67th minute when Wilson latched onto a pass from Chris Donovan and found the net to put Louisville ahead.

Hartford pushed for an equalizer but grew increasingly frustrated. Jordan Scarlett was booked in the 73rd minute, and the visitors' discipline continued to unravel deep into stoppage time. Both Abdullah Taofeek and Augustine Williams received yellow cards in the dying moments as Hartford's desperation turned scrappy. Despite the late pressure, Louisville's defense held firm and saw out the clean sheet.

The win gives Louisville City FC another three points at home and continues their push in the Championship standings, while Hartford Athletic's struggles on the road show no sign of easing.
