Portland Hearts of Pine came from behind to beat Spokane Velocity FC 2–1 in USL League One action on Saturday, with second-half goals from Aboubacar Camara and Jay Tee Kamara overturning a halftime deficit.

Spokane drew first blood deep in first-half stoppage time when Shavon John-Brown converted from a Joe Gallardo assist to send Velocity into the break with a 1–0 lead. It was a sucker punch for Portland, who had controlled stretches of the opening 45 minutes without finding a breakthrough.

The hosts came out with renewed purpose after halftime. Camara pulled Portland level in the 62nd minute, finishing from an Ollie Wright delivery to make it 1–1. The equalizer shifted momentum firmly in the home side's favor, and Portland kept pressing.

The winner arrived in the 80th minute. Matteo Kidd picked out Jay Tee Kamara, who made no mistake to put Portland ahead 2–1. Spokane's frustration boiled over shortly after, with Leigh Veidman picking up a yellow card in the 85th minute as Velocity pushed for a late equalizer that never came.

Portland saw the match out comfortably from there, securing all three points in a comeback that demonstrated resilience after a difficult first half. The result gives Hearts of Pine valuable momentum heading into the summer stretch of the League One season.
