Las Vegas Lights FC and Phoenix Rising FC played out a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with Themi Antonoglou opening the scoring in the second minute before Benjamin Ofeimu equalized for the visitors just before halftime.

The hosts wasted no time getting on the board. Antonoglou struck barely two minutes in, finishing off a pass from Nykolas Sessock to give Las Vegas an early lead and put Phoenix on the back foot from the start.

Rising needed time to settle after conceding so quickly. Gunnar Studenthofft picked up a yellow card in the 29th minute as the visitors struggled to find their rhythm in the opening half hour. But Phoenix grew into the game as halftime approached. Ofeimu pulled the visitors level in the 42nd minute, ensuring the sides went into the break on equal terms.

The second half failed to produce a decisive goal. Las Vegas carried much of the momentum at home but couldn't convert their early-game urgency into a winner. Phoenix, meanwhile, looked content to stay compact and take their chances when they came. The final minutes grew testy — Dominique Badji was cautioned in the 84th minute, Blake Pope followed two minutes later for the home side, and Jaethan Irwin collected a yellow deep in stoppage time as tempers flared in what had become a scrappy affair.

Neither team could find a breakthrough, and the point apiece does little to separate two Western Conference rivals jockeying for position in the second half of the season.
