One Knoxville SC edged Fort Wayne FC 2–1 at home on Wednesday night in USL League One action, with Scott McLeod and Abel Caputo finding the net for the hosts either side of a Kabiru Gafar equalizer for the visitors.

The first half produced no goals but plenty of friction. Both sides picked up bookings inside the opening two minutes, setting the tone for a scrappy 45 that saw the referee reach for his pocket repeatedly. One Knoxville's Real Gill was cautioned on the half-hour mark, and Denis Krioutchenkov collected a second yellow before the break — though the hosts managed to avoid going down to ten men.

Knoxville came out sharper after halftime. Just two minutes into the second half, McLeod broke the deadlock, finishing off a Teddy Baker assist to give the home side the lead. Fort Wayne absorbed pressure and stayed in the contest, with the match remaining physical — Juan Solis and Kyle Linhares both went into the book before the 70th minute.

The visitors found their equalizer in the 73rd minute when Gafar converted from a Taig Healy delivery to make it 1–1. Fort Wayne's momentum was short-lived, however. Caputo restored One Knoxville's advantage in the 81st minute, and the hosts held firm through a tense final stretch that included another late booking for Fort Wayne's Lilian Ricol deep into stoppage time.

Eight yellow cards across the 90 minutes underlined the intensity of a match that never settled into any rhythm but ultimately rewarded the team that took its chances. The win keeps One Knoxville SC pushing forward in the League One standings as the season crosses its midway point.
