FC Naples cruised to a 2–0 victory over Richmond Kickers in USL League One action on Wednesday, with Raul Miglietti scoring both goals to seal all three points at home.
Miglietti opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, finishing off a pass from Kevin O'Connor to give Naples an early lead. The hosts controlled proceedings from there, though the match picked up an edge as the half wore on. Hal Uderitz was booked in the 34th minute for Naples, the first of several cautions dished out across the contest.
Richmond struggled to find a way back into the game after the break. Omar Ciss picked up a yellow card in the 56th minute for Naples, and Tarik Pannholzer was cautioned for the Kickers shortly after in the 63rd. Neither side lost its discipline entirely — no red cards were shown — but the fouls disrupted any rhythm Richmond tried to build.
Miglietti put the result beyond doubt in the 67th minute, converting from a Ty Collins delivery to double the advantage. It was a clinical brace from the forward, who took his chances cleanly when they arrived. Richmond offered little in response, unable to generate sustained pressure in the final third as Naples managed the closing stages comfortably. Zak Gordon collected a late booking for the home side deep in stoppage time, but by then the points were long secured.
The win gives FC Naples valuable momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season as they look to solidify their place in the League One standings.
