Sporting JAX raced into a two-goal lead inside nine minutes but couldn't hold on, as Brooklyn FC fought back for a 2–2 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday. Emil Jääskeläinen, Ahmad Al Qaq, Juan Carlos Obregón Jr, and Tommy McNamara all found the net.

The hosts came out firing. Jääskeläinen opened the scoring in just the third minute, finishing from a Tyshawn Rose delivery to put Sporting JAX ahead early. Six minutes later, the advantage doubled. Edgardo Rito picked out Ahmad Al Qaq, who made it 2–0 before most fans had settled into the match.

Brooklyn FC looked rattled, and the first half offered little in the way of a response. Harvey Neville picked up a yellow card for Sporting JAX late in first-half stoppage time, with Brooklyn's Thomas Vancaeyezeele also going into the book around the same period.

The second half was a different story. Obregón Jr pulled one back in the 57th minute, latching onto a Tommy McNamara pass to halve the deficit and inject life into Brooklyn's evening. McNamara then completed the comeback himself in the 75th minute, leveling the score at 2–2.

Sporting JAX pressed for a winner in the closing stages but couldn't find one. Rose, whose early assist had helped set the tone, was booked in the 90th minute, as was Brooklyn's John Klein moments earlier — a sign of the tension that gripped the final minutes.

The draw leaves both sides sharing the spoils in a contest that will feel like two points dropped for Sporting JAX after such a commanding start.
