Chattanooga Red Wolves SC ground out a 1–0 victory over Forward Madison FC in USL League One on Wednesday night, with Omar Hernandez's sixth-minute strike proving the difference.

The Red Wolves wasted no time taking control. Hernandez finished from a Yanis Lelin delivery just six minutes in, giving the hosts an early cushion they would never relinquish. It was a fast start that forced Forward Madison into chasing the game for the remaining 84 minutes.

What followed was a fractious, ill-tempered affair. The referee's notebook got a workout as eight yellow cards were brandished across the 90 minutes — five to Chattanooga, three to Forward Madison. JahLane Forbes was the first into the book for the visitors in the 28th minute, with Michael Knapp cautioned for the hosts shortly after at 36'. The cards kept coming in the second half as challenges flew in from both sides, with Eric Kinzner, Aaron Edwards, and James Vaughan all booked in quick succession between the 50th and 63rd minutes. Lelin, the provider of the assist for the opener, also picked up a yellow as Chattanooga's discipline threatened to undo their good work. Matt Glaeser's 90th-minute booking capped a tetchy evening.

Despite the constant threat of a numerical disadvantage, the Red Wolves held firm. Forward Madison pushed but could not find a way through, and Chattanooga saw the game out without needing a second goal.
