Hartford Athletic edged Miami FC 2–1 at home on Saturday night, with Eloy Room scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the 90th+4th minute to seal all three points. Barry Coffey had opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Jürgen Locadia equalized for Miami just before halftime.

Coffey struck first, putting Hartford ahead midway through the opening quarter of the game. Miami responded physically rather than creatively in the minutes that followed — Mason Tunbridge and Alessandro Milesi were both cautioned before the half-hour mark as challenges grew increasingly aggressive. Thomas Presthus had already been booked for Hartford in the 13th minute, setting an early tone.

Tunbridge made a more productive contribution deep into first-half stoppage time, teeing up Locadia to finish and level the score at 1–1 heading into the break.

The second half became a war of attrition. Miami's discipline continued to fray as Joel Soñora, Bachir Ndiaye, and Gastón Maddoni each collected yellows between the 67th and 79th minutes — five bookings in total for the visitors on the night. Hartford pressed but couldn't find a breakthrough in normal time.

Then, four minutes into added time, Room — a name more commonly associated with goalkeeping duties — popped up to snatch the winner for Hartford and send Miami home empty-handed. Brendan Burke had been booked moments earlier in the 90th minute, but it hardly mattered as the hosts celebrated a hard-fought comeback.

The result gives Hartford valuable points in a tightly packed USL Championship table as the stretch run of the 2026 season approaches.
