Detroit City FC edged Louisville City FC 2–1 at home on Saturday in a USL Championship clash decided by second-half heroics from Connor Rutz. Carlos Moguel opened the scoring in the 38th minute for Detroit, Jansen Wilson equalized for Louisville in first-half stoppage time, and Rutz restored the lead for good in the 71st minute.

Moguel broke the deadlock late in the first half, giving Detroit City the advantage after a largely even opening spell.
