Duluth set the tone early. Davidson broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, giving the visitors a lead they would never relinquish. Sioux Falls struggled to respond, and the first half descended into a scrappy affair — M. Koch picked up a yellow card for Duluth in the 36th minute, moments after M. Lorenzo was booked for the hosts on 33 minutes.
The second half brought more frustration for Sioux Falls Thunder FC. B. Denton was cautioned for Duluth early in the half, but it was the visitors who continued to look the more dangerous side. Soulemana doubled the advantage on 63 minutes, effectively putting the result beyond doubt. P. Saiz was booked for Sioux Falls on 73 minutes as the home side's discipline frayed alongside their hopes of a comeback.
Magalhaes completed the rout six minutes from time, netting Duluth's third to make it 3-0. Late yellow cards for T. Nour (88') and A. Bjerke (90') were the only blemishes on an otherwise polished Duluth performance, though neither booking carried much consequence with the points long since secured.
