Las Vegas Lights FC and Sacramento Republic FC shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday night. Aarón Guillén opened the scoring for the hosts in the 20th minute before Mark-Anthony Kaye equalized for Sacramento ten minutes later.

The Lights struck first when Guillén finished off a Shawn Smart delivery to put Las Vegas ahead midway through the first half. The lead lasted just ten minutes. Kaye pulled Sacramento level on the half-hour mark, converting from a Kyle Edwards assist to make it 1–1.

The game grew increasingly chippy from there. Aaron Essel picked up a booking for Sacramento in the 36th minute, and teammate Frederik Kleemann followed him into the referee's notebook before halftime. Nathaniel Jones was cautioned for Las Vegas in the 61st minute, and Sacramento continued to test the official's patience — Arturo Rodríguez and Mayele Malango were both booked within two minutes of each other in the 75th and 77th minutes. Guillén, the Lights' goalscorer, rounded out the card tally with a yellow deep in stoppage time.

Despite four Sacramento bookings in the second half alone, neither side managed to find a winner. The second 45 minutes produced no goals, and the match ended where it stood at the break.

The draw keeps both sides searching for consistency early in the 2026 season, with neither able to claim the full three points in a contest that generated more cards than clear-cut chances.
