Sporting JAX and Spokane Zephyr FC shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL Super League action on Saturday, with goals from Felicia Knox and Sophia Boman coming in a four-minute span in the first half.
Spokane struck first in the 18th minute. Knox finished from a Ginger Fontenot feed to put the visitors ahead, capping a sharp early passage of play from Zephyr FC. The lead, however, was short-lived. Sporting JAX responded almost immediately, with Boman leveling the score in the 22nd minute to restore parity before the half-hour mark.
The second half failed to produce a winner despite both sides pushing for one. Spokane's discipline slipped as the match wore on — Emma Jaskaniec picked up a yellow card in the 64th minute, and Haley Thomas followed into the referee's notebook eight minutes later. The two bookings reflected a growing edge to proceedings, but neither side could find the decisive goal.
The draw keeps both teams looking over their shoulders in the USL Super League standings, with neither able to claim the full three points in a contest that was effectively settled by that frantic first-half exchange.
