Hartford Athletic dismantled New York Cosmos 4–1 on the road Saturday, with Augustine Williams, Barry Coffey, Emmanuel Samadia, and Andrés Hernández all finding the net. Sergio Chavez grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.

Hartford set the tone early. Williams opened the scoring in the 11th minute, and the Cosmos immediately looked rattled — Augustine Puentes picked up a yellow card just four minutes later. The home side's discipline continued to unravel as the first half wore on, with Anges Kader Bohui booked in the 44th minute, one of five Cosmos players cautioned on the night.

Coffey doubled Hartford's lead in the 40th minute, finishing from a Williams pass to make it 2–0. The visitors weren't done before the break. Samadia added a third right on the stroke of halftime, converting from an Adrian Diz Pe delivery to send Hartford into the interval with a commanding three-goal cushion.

The second half was a fractious affair. Hartford's Antony Siaha collected two yellow cards — one in first-half stoppage time and another in the 63rd minute — while Cosmos players Darren Sidoel and Davide Materazzi were also cautioned as frustrations boiled over.

Chavez pulled one back for the Cosmos in the 87th minute, briefly offering a flicker of hope, but Hartford extinguished it almost immediately. Hernández restored the three-goal margin just a minute later, latching onto a Sadat Anaku pass to seal a comprehensive victory.

The result marks a miserable evening for the Cosmos, whose lack of discipline proved as costly as their defensive frailties, while Hartford will carry serious momentum into their next fixture.
